5/10 Just by chance I discovered that Gemini has access to all my writing, and I can talk to it about it. I am not surprised by this, I did know that because all my documents are on Google, it has always been mining them and using them, among many other things, to select the contents of my Google feed. Since I publish all of my writing, this is only an extension of it, a natural one. Even the parts which I don’t publish do get read this way, and that’s okay too, since I think the world is getting ever more transparent, and even if we wanted to, there is nothing we can do about it. I also believe it’s a good thing.
I can ask it to evaluate the style of my writing, and I can ask it about specific events and topics. After a little back and forth with Gemini, you can tell it’s not all that sophisticated yet (sorry, Gemini). But I can also ask the elephant in the room, even though it only has access to my writing from the outside, via what’s actually published. I’m pleased with how it delves into the writing and how nothing escapes its attention. This may be the next revolution of publishing. The first one was print (a few could publish), the next one was the internet (anyone can publish), and this next one is that everything gets actually read.
