The Hudson Valley turning into an actual valley as you get further north, the hills getting higher and turning into actual mountains, yet the water just as flat as it has been the entire journey, and the sun low behind the mountains, so that the mountains get halos, while becoming dark silhouettes, while the train moves among them, so that very soon, the sun comes around behind those mountains again, and much of the eeriness vanishes, as if it was just an instant of a dream.
