June 19. I’m so fed up with the pandemic that I don’t even feel like writing down how it ends. But for the sake of completeness: in New York seventy percent of all people are vaccinated, consequently all restrictions in public were lifted a few days ago. With some delay, the masks disappear from the streets, about ninety percent of the passers-by are not wearing one now. In the stores and in the residential buildings, on the other hand, almost nothing has changed yet. I have seen only one woman without a mask in the elevator. Yesterday I wanted to register for the gym, but the doorman couldn’t find the folder with the registration forms. He decided, I decided, that that cancels the rules, although the appropriate notices are still up on the doors. I now take the mask off when I train, but I am – at least as far as I could see in the last two days – the only one who does so. The disinfectants for the equipment are no longer being replenished. In midtown, our company floor is now completely reopened, including the pool table.
