April 12. The new training plan may feel strange with the short distances and long warm-up and cool-down, but it must be doing something right, because my cardiopulmonary fitness is rising to quite unexpected levels and I’m running seven-forty without much effort. My legs feel like enormous upheavals are going on in them.
“He just presses two side by side and it sounds good” a guitarist once said while I worked with him on a piece. I find that a bit disappointing, too. In other times such intervals would have been forbidden, now we’ve gotten used to them and find them interesting. Where does it stop? And what is there, other than our random spot on this progression?
