  • April 27. If I only reduce the mess in the apartment a little bit every day, and it is a little neater and cleaner in the evening than it was in the morning, then I guess it will be all tidy in barely a hundred days. But I wouldn’t be me if it ever came to that.

  • April 26. Not out of jet lag yet. A strange in-between world. Hardly any sleep.

  • April 25. Rebooked flight to New York, leaving Amsterdam at noon. Quite unexpectedly, both eyes move as I turn my head left and right in front of the mirror in the airplane lavatory. My gratitude does not outweigh the worry I had before.

  • April 24. Flight delayed in Gothenburg, stranded in Amsterdam. Night in the airport hotel.

  • April 23. Continued with unabated intensity until we brought the kids home in the evening. Hard to imagine how a normal, continuous life would go with us as the main characters.

  • April 20. The routine with which we make these flights to Sweden is by now quite impressive. We’ve got every move down, forgetting nothing. Two months ago we were flying into the night, now it almost doesn’t get dark anymore.

What’s strange about SpaceX is how they have built such reliable transport solutions, but with Starship it almost seems as if they want everything to go wrong the first time around.

  • April 19. Got up at 3 in the morning, got home to New York mostly sleeping on the plane, and then a little dumbfounded by an email that says our flight is almost ready. Tomorrow we’re going to Sweden.

  • April 18. Audition successful. Not a win, but that wasn’t the plan. The burden of two months falls away. Feeling numb. We don’t quite know what to do with our anniversary, are far too tired to go out anywhere, and walk just a few steps to the bistro. It’s a wonderful spring evening, and you’d never finish if you tried to write about it.
